I am a Shih-Poo puppy! My Mom is a Mini Poodle and my Dad is a Shih-Tzu. I was born on September 10th and I am ready for my forever home! I have been family raised on a mini farm in the country around children. I have had my shots and de-wormers. I have been checked by a veterinarian. I am micro-chipped. We are ODA certified and all our moms and dad have regular health checks throughout the year. Along with any care and attention they need. Our puppies are friendly and playful and socialized with kids. Paperwork for your new puppy… a vet check by a veterinarian that has done a nose to tail evaluation of the puppy. We will have the results of the exam. Also a vaccine record of worming and vaccines that the puppy has received. A microchip and a link of where to register your new puppy. We will also send along a puppy starter kit of food that she has been eating so you have enough to transition into a new food slowly so we can take care of her new tummy as she is adjusting to her new home. A 1 year health guarantee so you have enough time to get to the vet and make sure your new puppy is progressing well since they have been home. The Shihpoo, also known as a Shoodle or a Poo-Tzu, is an adorable mixed breed between a Shih Tzu and a Miniature or Toy Poodle. This fairly new designer breed was first noticed in North America in the last few decades. Shihpoos are cheerful, easygoing, and devoted, and would be comfortable in most living situations. They are ideal for an older, retired person, but will also be fine in a family. This is a good breed for new pet owners. They are an intelligent, sensitive, and lovable breed who would like nothing more than to be spoiled and cherished, and they do make great emotional support therapy dogs. The Shihpoo is typically 8-18 inches high, and usually weighs between 7-20 pounds. The height and weight can vary due to what size Poodle the Shih Tzu is bred with. This is a breed with a long life span, commonly between 13-17 years. Their thick coat can be either curly or straight or a mix of both, and with a wide range of colors. The Shihpoo’s coat can be white, cream, gray, black, brown, liver, apricot, and often with a tawny or dappled pattern. Due to the coat being easily matted daily brushing is essential, and they would do well with monthly professional grooming appointments. Their exercise needs are in the medium range of between 20-30 minutes a day. Typically a few short walks and quick little potty breaks would suffice. They do get along with other pets, but as with any dog early training and socialization is important. The Shihpoo is commonly a healthy breed and with routine veterinary care, they should live long and happy lives.
